United Cerebral Palsy of MetroBoston received a grant for its fall musical theater arts program for children. The program is not only for children with cerebral palsy but also for those with any physical or intellectual disability.

UCP is working in collaboration with the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown on this musical theater experience, which will end with a performance. The program will run four to six weeks with about a half dozen children per class.

The program will emphasize creative expression and artistic understanding and will strengthen bonding, friendship and confidence. It is self-supporting and awards scholarships to the children who need them.

UCP also is creating a monthly Musical Theater and Creative Arts Program for adults with disabilities at its Watertown site.

“Life without Limits” is the mission of this organization that currently provides services to more than 1,200 individuals in Massachusetts. UCP’s Sheri Wasserman wrote: “it would be an honor to have a connection to Emily’s memory as we offer programs that impact lives.”
